The Dinner Mais Darwazeh lives alone. In Amman, a city of uprooted people, she creates her own identity by gathering around her table close friends, chosen ingredients and old recipes. Keshtben A family documentary that follows the filmmaker as she visits her aunts, Wafika and Zahra, to have them sew her wedding dress before she gets married. Zahra was only married for 9 months, while Wafika has never been married. As they sew the dress – and talk of their own lives – we revisit the past, and look towards the future, with or without marriage. Wooden Hand Amira, five-years-old, doesn’t like school. In order to avoid going, she finds an idea that goes beyond her expectations.
