With the outbreak of the Lebanese civil war in 1975, Christian families from Haret Herek, including the director’s family, fled and emigrated. Haret Herek, south of Beirut, was populated with Shiite families from southern Lebanon who escaped the continuous wars with Israel. In July 2006, the place was eventually destroyed by Israel, and the director’s family has now nothing but memories from the past.
