- their past was paradise, their present is hell Two ladies – mother and daughter – live on the sunny Portuguese coast. Throughout their lives, they have had more than enough money to live the good life. But now their wealth has run out and a jet set life is substituted by unpaid bills and the constant fear of not being able to pay next month’s rent. The daughter, who has never worked, is now forced to forget her decadent lifestyle and try to find a job. But it is more than difficult to enter a strained job market in times of worldwide economical crisis with an empty CV and a rich kid attitude. “The Good Life” is an entertaining tragi-comic story of glory and fall. But it is also a film about upbringing and overprotection in a family that had it all and ended up with nothing.
